All tools →What Is a Decision Wheel?
A decision wheel is a free online tool that makes a random choice for you by spinning an animated wheel. When you can't decide — what to eat, whether to do something, which task to tackle first — you add your options, click Spin to Decide, and the wheel lands on one at random. Every option occupies an equal segment, so each has exactly the same chance of being chosen. No weighting, no bias, no overthinking.
This Decision Wheel comes with six one-click presets so you can start immediately: Yes or No, What to Eat, What to Do, Should I?, Night In or Out, and What to Drink. Prefer your own choices? Add up to 30 custom options or paste a list, then spin. It's a full animated SVG wheel with a smooth ease-out spin, and it runs entirely in your browser — nothing is stored or sent anywhere.
How to Use the Decision Wheel
- Load a preset or add options: Click a preset chip — Yes or No, What to Eat, What to Do, Should I?, Night In or Out, or What to Drink — to load it instantly. Or type your own option and press Enter, or paste a comma/newline-separated list. Up to 30 options.
- Spin to decide: Click Spin to Decide or the center hub. The wheel spins with an ease-out deceleration and stops with one option under the pointer.
- Read the decision: The chosen option appears in the result card. Click Copy to save it to your clipboard.
- Spin again or switch: Click Spin Again for another decision, load a different preset, or edit your options. Recent decisions are listed below.
Built-In Decision Presets
- Yes or No: Yes, No, Maybe, Definitely, Not Now, Ask Again Later — for quick yes/no calls.
- What to Eat: Pizza, Sushi, Burgers, Tacos, Pasta, Salad, Chinese, Thai — end the "where should we eat" debate.
- What to Do: Watch a Movie, Go for a Walk, Read a Book, Play a Game, Call a Friend, Take a Nap, Cook Something, Exercise.
- Should I?: Do It, Skip It, Wait a Day, Ask for Advice — a nudge when you're on the fence.
- Night In or Out: Stay In, Go Out, Order Food, Movie Night, See Friends, Early Night.
- What to Drink: Coffee, Tea, Water, Juice, Soda, Smoothie.
How the Random Decision Works
- Pre-selected winner: The winning option is chosen using
Math.random()the moment you click Spin. The wheel then decelerates to land on that segment — the spin is visual, the outcome is already fair. - Equal probability: Every option has an identical chance regardless of label length or position on the wheel. There are no weighted slots.
- Client-side only: All randomization and rendering happens in your browser. No options or results are sent to a server or stored anywhere.
When to Use a Decision Wheel
- Everyday choices: Decide what to eat, what to watch, or what to do tonight without endless back-and-forth.
- Breaking a tie:When a group can't agree, let the wheel make an impartial call everyone accepts.
- Beating decision fatigue: Offload small, low-stakes choices to the wheel so you can save your energy for what matters.
- Should-I dilemmas: On the fence about a small decision? Load the Should I? preset and let the spin nudge you.
- Couples & roommates:Settle "what's for dinner" or "in or out tonight" fairly with a single spin.
- Games & challenges: Add dares, forfeits, or challenges and spin to pick one at random.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a decision wheel?
It is a free online tool that makes a random choice for you by spinning an animated wheel. Add your options or load a preset, click Spin to Decide, and the wheel lands on one option at random with equal odds.
What preset decisions are built in?
Six one-click presets: Yes or No, What to Eat, What to Do, Should I?, Night In or Out, and What to Drink. Each loads a ready-made option set so you can start deciding instantly.
Can I add my own options?
Yes. Type an option and press Enter, or paste a comma-separated or newline-separated list to add many at once — up to 30 options. Remove any by clicking × next to it.
Is the decision truly random and fair?
Yes. The winning option is chosen with Math.random() before the animation starts, so every option has an equal probability on every spin. The spin is visual only — the outcome is already decided when you click Spin.
How is this different from a plain spinner?
The Decision Wheel comes preloaded with common everyday-decision presets you can load in one click, so you can start deciding instantly instead of typing a list from scratch.
Does it store my options?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Your options and results are never sent to any server and are not stored anywhere, not even between sessions.
Is it free?
Yes — completely free with no account, no signup, and no limit on how many times you spin.
